Insomnia Cookies fall menu draws inspiration from favorite lattes
While coffee might fuel that late night study session, the Insomnia Cookies fall menu will be the perfect sweet treat to pair with that beverage. After tempting everyone with those cookies for breakfast, these new latte inspired cookies might become a new favorite treat.

What flavors are on the Insomnia Cookies fall menu?
Available now, the Insomnia Cookies fall menu features three flavors, Matcha Latte Cookie, Pumpkin Spice Latte Cookie and Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte. Whether you drink the cookies with milk, coffee or another favorite beverage, these sweet treats are irresistible.
The Matcha Latte Cookie is more than just its vibrant color. That touch of earthiness from the matcha pairs delightfully with the white chocolate chips. For people who prefer a cookie with a touch sweet yet a bolder flavor, this cookie is a must try.
Since pumpkin spice has become the primary fall flavor, the Insomnia Cookies Pumpkin Spice Latte Cookie elevates those warm spices. Using pumpkin puree and cream cheese chips, it offers that warmth with a tangy sweetness. The crushed graham crackers add a lovely texture to the cookies, too.
And, a vegan option of the Pumpkin Spice Latte is just as delicious. The flavors are similar, yet it fits into the vegan lifestyle.

The Future is Unwritten
Late-night snacking in Iowa City is about to get a whole lot sweeter after Insomnia Cookies opens its downtown location.
The late-night bakery chain will be moving into the space at E Washington St, which used to be Mama’s Deli Catering. Mama’s Deli closed last December.
Iowa City’s Insomnia Cookies will be opening “later this summer,” the companys Director of Communications Sarah Schwab told Little Village in an email. Schwab said more information will be shared when it’s available.
The downtown Iowa City location will be the late-night bakery chain’s third location in Iowa. The other two are in Ames and Cedar Falls. It’s no coincidence that all three of Iowa’s locations are near college towns.
Insomnia Cookies was founded in by Seth Berkowitz, who was then a college student at the University of Pennsylvania.
Berkowitz loved cookies but didn’t want to leave his dorm room at night to go get them. So, Berkowitz and his friends baked large batches of cookies and delivered them around campus. Three years later, in , Insomnia Cookies opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Syracuse, New York. And the rest is history.
As of late April, the chain has nearly locations, many of which are near college campuses and open as late as 3 a.m. The late-night bakery also has local delivery and nationwide shipping for customers craving a warm cookie.
The Insomnia Cookies menu generally features a variety of warm cookies, ice cream sandwiches, cookie cakes, ice cream and brownies. There are also gluten-free and vegan cookie options.
According to the Insomnia Cookies website, the Iowa City location will be open from noon to 1 a.m. on Sunday; 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Thursday and Friday; and noon to 3 a.m. on Saturday. Delivery hours will begin one hour after the store opens.
The company is hiring bakers, drivers and shift leads for the Iowa City location. More information and applications can be found online.

A new Insomnia Cookies bakery debuts this weekend in South Philadelphia – with a secret twist.
The late-night cookie spot opens to the public Saturday at noon with a speakeasy-style CookieLab.
Hidden behind a secret bookcase inside the East Passyunk storefront across from Pat's Steaks, the CookieLab gives visitors the opportunity to customize cookies of their dreams, taste exclusive sweet treats and experience a behind-the-scenes look at the Philadelphia-born bakery.
“We are proud of our unique ability to give Insomniacs a new way to interact and immerse themselves in our unique cookie culture right where the cookie magic all began,” Insomnia Cookie founder and CEO Seth Berkowitz said in a release.
Cookies aren’t the only customizable creations on the hidden gem’s secret menu, milkshakes are, too. Some unique creations include:
- Galaxy: A double chocolate chunk cookie, purple buttercream with white chocolate chips, and galaxy sprinkles
- Blueberry Pancake Remix: A warm sugar cookie covered in cream cheese icing, dried blueberries, cinnamon streusel, and maple syrup
- Cereal Munchies: A cereal bowl cookie with cream cheese icing, and Fruity Pebbles™
- PB Pretzel: a peanut butter cookie with Insomnia Chocolate Cookie Butter, crushed pretzels, PB chips, and a PB drizzle
Customers can also invent over-the-top milkshakes at the bakery’s milk bar and give it a unique name.
Philly-bred Insomnia Cookies took a page from Willy Wonka and created a special shop in South Philly where you can dream up your favorite cookie creations.
“Philadelphia has always been such an important part of our brand’s DNA,” Berkowitz said.
Berkowitz founded the company’s late-night delivery concept inside his University of Pennsylvania dorm room in and has expanded his vision across the United States with more than locations.
