SafeHome.org says it used data from the U.S. Department of Justice, FBI, and U.S. Department of Education.

The results say that Yale has the 11th highest violent crime rate in the country. The study says Southern Connecticut State University is the safest college in the state.

In a statement, the President of Yale University said, &#;Our just-released annual security/crime report (Clery) shows our campus has very low crime rates, and almost no violent crime. Crime on our campus has been trending steadily down for more than a decade.&#;

On Wikipedia, the list of notable Yale graduates from Yale University runs over 35 pages long in multiple columns and tiny print. From George W. Bush to George Bush, it includes the likes of Paul Freeman and Meryl Streep,  Fareed Zakaria, Dick Cheney, and Samuel Morse. Yale has produced a major chunk of humanities leaders and entertainers.

Yale University is a private Ivy League research university in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in as the Collegiate School, Yale is the third-oldest institution of higher education in the United States and one of the nine Colonial Colleges chartered before the American Revolution. It is a research university and a liberal arts college. Its scholars are driven by innovation and more than years of tradition. It is known for its stellar undergraduate programs, and excellent drama and music programs, which reach outside the classroom with student organizations such as the Yale Whiffenpoofs, a famous a cappella group, and the Yale Dramatic Association. Why then do we see a certain reluctance to add Yale to our list of Reach schools?

Is it the location? Yale University is situated in New Haven, a mid sized city in Connecticut, technically an hour away from NY by train.  And yet, prospective students worry about choosing Yale University for their future education because Yale has come in as the nation's 4th most dangerous city, according to preliminary figures recently recently released by the FBI, with violent crimes per people in Yale and New Haven’s reputation for being dangerous likely originated in the late s and early s. The city, New Haven, was the site of a drug war, and there were three times as many shootings in the city as there are today. Although statistics suggest that New Haven as a whole is still more dangerous than other cities of comparable size, the area around Yale is no more dangerous than those that surround other schools(Compared to other cities, this is probably the norm, but more on that later)

To counter the fears, the University has a strong security system, with security guards in place throughout the day to keep the city and the student body in their place. The dorms are reputed to be spacious and centrally located, there are many emergency phones and adequate lighting. According to current Yale students and alumni, the buildings themselves are surrounded by locked gates and all buildings are secured by key cards. Cabs, campus shuttles, and campus security all ensure that you get from one place to another safely. Of course, after dark you should not walk alone or carry valuables but that’s common sense in an urban environment.

However, not all students live on campus. Many of the grad students live off campus in slightly rougher neighborhoods with a higher rate of crimes. Like any city, your risks increase if you are intoxicated, alone, or in an unfamiliar part of town. But as long as you take sensible precautions, like with every location, the educational experience is safe.

Being in a city like this is a good educational experience in its own right. The Yale area is very historic, steeped in culture, art, theater, and with lots of ethnically diverse restaurants. Don’t be afraid. Just make friends, have fun, and keep your doors locked - but don’t we all already do that?

Yale University Crime and Safety in

Can High Reported Crime Be A Good Sign?

Nearly 1/3 of the colleges we analyzed either did not report crime or reported no incidents of crime. Zero incidents of reported crime may be nice to see, but it does not necessarily mean the school is safer, as it could indicate lax reporting. Higher incidents of reported crime could mean the school is stricter about law enforcement and reporting. Remember, just because incidents are not reported does not mean they do not happen.

Important Questions to Ask About Safety

  • Even in low-crime areas, students still run the risk of encountering violence and unsafe situations. What kind of policies does Yale have in place to protect students or help students who are victims of crimes?
  • How secure are the dorm rooms and other buildings? Would a break in be easy for an intruder?
  • What kind of punishments or penalties are in place for students accused of or convicted of crimes?
  • One way a student may feel more comfortable might be to take a self-defense or safety class. Are there classes like this offered at Yale?

What if they see. The man was unforgiving. Turning abruptly, he began to go upstairs alone, and Marina, willy-nilly, followed, almost crying with resentment.

I even showed signs of excitement, but when I saw them again, I calmed down again. They stood at the bar, drank and talked about something. Then they went off to dance again. I already followed them half an eye, so from time to time I looked in their direction.

How to reset your Yale safe

I did not find my underwear while I was looking for it, looked with regret at the good, strong members of the boys, but promised. Myself that at work I would caress myself by watching porn (on Saturday in the office we were on duty one at a time and had fun as best I could; personally, I a couple of times I found used condoms, an empty brandy bottle and other interesting things in the trash can).

She ran to work, greeted the security guard Kostya below; wow, what a boy, for a long time I want to wriggle under him, but all the time there is no opportunity, alas. I flew into the office with a bullet, plopped down on a chair and began to examine myself in the mirror of the closet. Yes, the female is good.
