Last pass login

Last pass login DEFAULT

LastPass Enterprise is a free-to-use, DoIT supported enterprise password manager that allows faculty, staff, and students to securely store, manage, and share credentials used for university purposes.

  • Securely stores, manages, and shares work-related credentials.
  • Integrated with Single Sign On (SSO-NetID login) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA-Duo) for increased security.
  • Eliminates the need to remember multiple passwords (and the vulnerabilities associated with reusing passwords).
  • Works across multiple platforms and devices including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS.
  • Ability to link your LastPass Enterprise account to a free LastPass Premium account for personal use.
  • Must be an active UW–Madison faculty, staff, or student to enroll in LastPass Enterprise.
  • Must be enrolled in MFA-Duo.
  • Must install the relevant LastPass browser extensions and/or mobile apps.
  • Usernames for LastPass Enterprise accounts must be in the format of [email protected] for provisioning and SSO functionality.
  • Intended for work-related credentials.
If you are a NEW LastPass Enterprise user:
  1. To enroll, go to your Wisc Account Admin page and click on LastPass and click on “Enable”.
  2. Follow the instructions in the welcome email (it may take up to an hour to receive) to activate your account.
  3. Download the LastPass browser extension(s) of choice.
  4. Enter your [email protected] in the username field and click, “Login”.
  5. You will now be able to access your LassPass Enterprise Vault (where you’ll add the sites and usernames and passwords) via NetID Login (referred to as Federated Login by LastPass/LogMeIn).
If you are an EXISTING LastPass Enterprise user:

You can keep your Master Password login OR choose to convert to NetID login (which eliminates the need for a Master Password).

  1. To start the conversion process, fill out the LastPass Enterprise Login Type Request Form or contact the DoIT Help Desk.
  2. You will receive an email confirming that the conversion has started.
  3. The conversion process may take up to an hour to complete.
If you are a NEW LastPass Premium User:
  • Available to anyone with an active UW–Madison email address (to confirm eligibility) but you must use a personal email account to sign up
  • Intended for use in storing your personal accounts (e.g. banking, shopping, social media sites).
  • Ideal for students, alumni, and LastPass Enterprise eligible employees wanting a robust personal password manager in addition to, or instead of, a work specific LastPass Enterprise account.
  • LastPass Premium Accounts are separate from LastPass Enterprise accounts and are NOT supported by UW–Madison (meaning you need to contact LastPass for support).
  • Sign up for your FREE LastPass Premium account.

HELP FILE

Log on to Sites Using LastPass

Once you have installed and logged in to the LastPass web browser extension, you can automatically log in to sites with autofilled credentials, or you can manually select a username and password you have stored in your Vault.

Watch Video

Using the LastPass web browser extension

  1. In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon .
  2. Enter your username and your LastPass Master Password, then click Log In.
  3. If prompted, complete steps for multifactor authentication (if it is enabled on your account).

  4. Click the LastPass icon , then use the Search field to locate your desired site.
  5. Click on the site entry or click the Launch icon to automatically launch and log in to your site.

Using the LastPass Field icon

  1. In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon .
  2. Enter your email address and Master Password, then click Log In.
  3. If prompted, complete steps for multifactor authentication (if it is enabled on your account).

  4. In your web browser, navigate to your desired site.
  5. Click the LastPass Infield icon within the username or password field, then select your desired set of login credentials.
Note: The number displayed within the LastPass Infield icon will indicate the amount of stored username and password sets that match with the site you are visiting.
  6. Once LastPass has filled in your username and password, proceed to log in to the site.

From within the LastPass Vault

  1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your username and Master Password.
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon LastPass then click Open My Vault.
  2. Locate your desired site within your Vault, then click Launch to log in using the credentials autofilled by LastPass.

Manually log in to sites

If you have navigated to a site that is not secure (HTTP), or have disabled autofill, or just want to select a different set of credentials for matching sites, you can log in to sites manually.

  • Navigate to your desired site. If LastPass detects that the site is not secure (using HTTP instead of HTTPS), your login data will not autofill when the page loads. Click the LastPass Infield icon within the username or password field and select your desired credentials.
Note: The number displayed within the LastPass Infield icon will indicate the amount of stored username and password sets that match with the site you are visiting.
  • Navigate to your desired site, then click the LastPass web browser extension icon then hover over your desired credentials and select Fill. Proceed to log in to the site.

Are you encountering a warning that the login form is insecure?

LastPass does not support the use of autofill on HTTP sites on initial page load, only HTTPS sites support autofill when the page is loaded.
