ENBSeries v TrueHDR for TES Skyrim

It differs from by almost no processing of per object effects and all complex effects are disabled. This version only for those players, who don't see any sence using SSAO and only need high performance and some color filters. This mod have very high performance and mostly only bloom (disabled by default) with lenz effect decrease it. I left working parameters for sky, sun, clouds, because with some tricks it is possible to achieve almost same result as with previous ENBSeries mods by means of HDR processing. All presets and shaders still the same, so download made by users (on the forum or nexus), i'm not sharing my own to everybody.

Warning! This is not final version. Description of presets to this version will be available later on http://enbdev.com Bright hairs of characters is result of post processing in enbeffect.fx shader. Performance and visual tweaking is work on your side. If you don't want to learn how edit parameters of ENBSeries, get configuration files of other users. I don't wish to tweak by myself, always somebody hate what i doing by saying "too colorful for tundra, vanilla game is much more realistic", this is just bullshit from blind daltonic with cataracta. bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 must be set in SkyrimPrefs.ini file to make this mod work.

v differs from only by some minor optimizations, which was implemented in version Check out if no graphical artifacts appear in this version, if it look the same as
v Optimized performance, but SSAO and Depth Of Field effects turned off. Unfortunately, game use unknown vendor hack for NVidia cards, i can't find any information about it, so better to reverse back to slow version or develop for ATI only.
v It can be executed from some other folder, because don't use d3d9.dll file. Implemented experimental code of injector instead of standart d3d9 wrapper. This may be useful for users with Optimus laptops or for those, who using overlay tools like EVGA, Afterburn, D3D Overrider, XFire and others. Properties for adaptation in enbseries.ini are finished, but they are partially clamped by limits in enbeffect.fx, so if you wish to control by enbeffect.ini only, remove limit code in shader (or wait when i'll post new shader). Added parameters for SubSurfaceScattering to reduce lighting in shadows for characters and ugly thin line on them (game bug). Added parameter for control of lights from windows, but it affect some fx, for example freeze spell. Added ShadowObjectsFix to apply shadows from mountains properly. Various bug fixes. SSAO work with antialiasing.

v I'm going to be crazy with fixing game bugs for make it work with ENBSeries, official patches destroy my progress every time, so i decided to release "light" version. Crashes of the game happening very frequently (at least on my PC), they are not internal modification errors. Hardware antialiasing (multisampling) unsupported at this moment, so to make SSAO work properly, disable antialiasing (msaa). Optimization not applied, same as in any other first versions of ENBSeries, if you wish to get higher framerate, turn off SSAO or decrease quality of it. Game have some strange mistakes which aren't fixed yet, for example in interior locations direct light enabled and applied from bottom or from side (sun, uh?), so increaing intensity of it is not good idea, better to decrease all other values together and increase overall brightness in post processing shader enbeffect.fx. Users, who already tweaked parameters for GTA 4 version will not have much problems with this one. Do not change SubSurfaceScattering parameters, game have bug for characters and i'll fix it when latest official patch will be released (bright thin line on skin).

bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 must be set in SkyrimPrefs.ini file to make this mod work. Start SkyrimLauncher.exe to configure your video options again.
To work correctly, sky lighting require rendering objects to shadow, so edit manually following lines in file SkyrimPrefs.ini:
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bShadowsOnGrass=1



v To fix issue with bright hair added new parameter GammaCurve which is equal to parameters ColorPowDay and ColorPowNight, but apply to entire screen and should replace those two. But global usage of this variable may require changes in most of other parameters. Also new global variable is Brightness. Added fake clouds scattering on their edges, similar to Fallout New Vegas and GTA 4 versions. Parameters for this effect are CloudsEdgeClamp and CloudsEdgeIntensity. This version have all previous bug fixes and new feature is programmable lenz fx or any other sprites for sun only. New external shader file named enbsunsprite.fx and it use texture for computations named enbsunsprite.tga, enbsunsprite.png or enbsunsprite.bmp. This effect is done for modders who know how to edit shaders, probably later i'll create my own, but at this moment there are many other things not implemented yet (depth of field effect is also still as example for modders and some of them did good fx). v Sky lighting and sun rays effects are implemented. v Difference between new and previous version is sun rays effect.
v This version is similar to , but with new shadow effect, bugfix for parallax, optimization. Performance in this version optimized for ATI videocards also, but i don't have hardware for testing, so not sure how it work on practice. Do not set ForceFakeVideocard=true in this version, it's now for bugfixing mode and will be removed later. Parallax bugfix also should work for ATI users (mod is here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=). Partially changed code of SSAO and Indirect Lighting mix for better quality, modified method of computing distance fade factors of these effects (FadeFogRangeDay, FadeFogRangeNight). Changed detailed shadow quality presets (-1 is extreme, 0 is high, 1 is middle, 2 is low) for better details.
v Version is similar to , but with new shadow effect, bugfix for parallax, optimization. Best performance with NVidia cards temporary, but ATI users also may use this version, it have fixes for bugs of patch (set ForceFakeVideocard=true). For NVidia users this version do not create fake videocard "ENB", so you must redetect graphic options by game launcher if previously used modification or earlier version.

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim SE
Version dublicates the most features of the old Skyrim ENBSeries modification with as much compatibility between presets as possible, except external shaders which differ because of specific differencies between DX9 and DX Also memory manager is not required as Skyrim SE is x64 and there is no 4 gb memory limit.

Modification do not have graphic preset, by default it's ugly unconfigured (unless specified in description of version), so you need to download such presets made by users, feel free to visit my forum or Nexus site for them. Also you can edit parameters to your own taste inside integrated editor (display it by pressing SHIFT and ENTER keys together, by default).

Version have parallax fix.
Version have underwater caustics which require enbhelperse.dll plugin (also used for weather system).
Version have ColorPow parameter.
Version have water effects.
Version have multiple weathers system, please download helper plugin as described in readme file.

Version have fix which remove game LDR limitation, but they are not compatible with stereo mods.
Version beta is the first version released for the game.
Version have some performance optimizations applied.

All newest versions are compatible with each over and i recommend to use latest.

Removed EnableDenoiser, DenoiserType, EnableSupersampling parameters from [REFLECTION] category. SizeScale upper limit increased to 2. Subsampling is now always enabled for reflections.

Added HighPrecisionDirectionalShadowMap and HighPrecisionPointShadowMap parameters to [SHADOW] category, when disabled they save a video memory at cost of lower quality. Added statistics of video memory usage by shadows.

Skyrim enb series

Before download ENBSeries read license agreement and terms of use, by using this software means that you accepted license agreement.

And please, read included description to ENBSeries before installing and running it, this will simplify life a lot.


ENBSeries graphic modifications and patches are different.
Patch is fixing specific bugs in the game it was developed for, but some of my patches work with other games, because frequently game developers do the same mistakes. For example, patches for Silent Hill Homecoming, Deus Ex Human Revolution and TES Skyrim may help to reduce lags, stuttering, crashes, bsods, increase performance, fix strange bugs on single core cpu systems.
Graphic modifications do not have patch code in most cases, unless specified in documentation, they are changing graphic effects of the games and adding new effects, so they are decrease frame rate.
Convertor is special library which translate old graphic technologies to newest supported by ENBSeries, convertor standalone do not add any graphic effect. Some versions of convertor included in graphic mods, check them also if target game won't work properly with convertor you are using. At this moment only direct3d8 to direct3d9 (dx8 to dx9) convertor is done, but i'm still planning to create versions for dx5,6,7 and opengl. Convertors to dx10 or d11 are useless, because graphic modifications not existing for them.

Old versions of ENBSeries may work with many games which are using direct3d8 or direct3d9 (dx8, dx9), newest versions in most cases will not work for other games, as they are hardcoded to be compatible with one game only or games which use same game engine without much changes. Versions for TES Skyrim, GTA 4, Deus Ex Human Revolution are not working as generic for different games.

If you wish to modify some game, download several versions of ENBSeries and try them all, which will look better, without graphic artifacts and with as much effects as possible. Of course manual tweaking of configuration file must be done, it's up to you.

Not all versions of ENBSeries are listed here, some were developed exclusively and not available to public or were not named. In most cases they are for indie games and engines like FPS shooter.

Check also customized versions of the mod with presets made by users. My presets are not configured for fast performance or quality, because everyone have own taste and to spend time for tweaking is not interesting me.

Installing


Do not put d3d8.dll or d3d9.dll from ENBSeries to system folder of Windows!!!

Open game folder. You can manually locate it in browser or to open in properties of desktop link to the game.

For injector based versions of ENBSeries, you should setup proper name of game executable in configuration file of ENBSeries, this required to inject in to game process. In most cases, non modified games for which mod is developed, working properly without editing.
Injector version can be installed to any folder, but for better compability recommended to extract to game folder (some files may not work).

For d3d9.dll based versions of ENBSeries, check if game executable (file with .exe extention) is in same folder, some games have binary executable files in custom folders like bin, bin32, system and in main folder only launchers or .bat files. ENBSeries files must to be extracted and placed where game .exe file is or where game .dll libraries, otherwise it will not work. If you can't find .exe file, perhaps extentions are hidden by properties in OS, just ignore this and put files in game folder for experiment.

d3dx9_dll, d3dx9_dll, d3dx9_dll - required to run ENBSeries, if game won't start with modification and display error message, download DirectX Runtime from microsoft.com web site, they are not exist in system only for those users, who did not update DirectX several years or did clear installation of OS recently. If you need them, unpack to same folder, where ENBSeries is. Also you can put these files in to system folder of your windows installation.

Uninstalling


Do not remove d3d8.dll or d3d9.dll from system folder of Windows!!!

Remove all ENBSeries files. If you don't remember their names, just remove d3d9.dll file from game folder. If the game use DirectX8 for rendering, then delete d3d8.dll.

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
Version replace color filter with custom external shaders, fix some game bugs/crashes and applies memory manager for textures (ENBoost), allow to tweak many parameters of objects, add lot of new effects, etc.

Modification do not have graphic preset, by default it's ugly unconfigured (unless specified in description of version), so you need to download such presets made by users, feel free to visit my forum or Nexus site for them. Also you can edit parameters to your own taste inside integrated editor (display it by pressing SHIFT and ENTER keys together, by default).

Effects and features includes (but not complete list): memory usage reducing and crash preventing, color filters, programmable post process shaders and camera effects, bloom, subsurface scattering, depth of field, indirect lighting and ambient occlusion, lens reflections, detailed shadows and improved quality of original shadows, image based lighting, time of the day and weather dependent parameters, reflections, sun rays, fire and particle controls, soft particles and lights from particles, fps limiter, fps measure, screenshot capture.
Highly recommended TES Skyrim bug fix of game objects like fire, water particles, doors, vegetables, candles, etc is available here
Version is the first version released for the game, include just bugs and performance fixes of the game.
Version Tatsudoshi is New Year release, the same as previous versions, it use fake "ENB" video adapter to fix game bugs like transparent water and invisible fire (not actual now, but users of Radeon 2xxx/3xxx still have these issues). Not recommended, because it's very slow.
Version Injector first version with special ENBInjector tool which allow to run mod while some incompatible software used (Afterburner, XFire, etc) or for Optimus laptops. Not recommended, because it's very slow.
Version TrueHDR is very fast and simplified without most effects.
Version last non deffered which completely support hardware antialiasing (msaa), but at cost of performance and quality. Latest versions support antialiasing, but some effects do not work.
Version just a progress, requested to keep on the site for compatibility with some presets.

Version is performance optimized, but it's very old.
Version is the last which optimized for old videocards of DirectX10 generation like GeForce 8xxx/9xxx/2xx and Radeon 2xxx/3xxx/4xxx, so each version after that developed corresponding to modern DX11 generation of videocards which have much faster arithmetics. Some effects may run slower for old cards, but faster for new. Sorry, but i can't make two versions, so after purchasing modern videocard everything changed accordingly.
Version and newer include ENBoost patch (available for some other games too) which reduce memry usage of the game and as result fewer CTDs (crashes) and you may install much more modifications.
Version support helper plugin which allow to use weather system and time without problems with game scripting.
Version added support of SDK to control parameters.
Version added new ENBoost functionality for higher stability at cost of performance.
Version added localization support.
Version added dawn and dusk times of the day, which can be disabled for compatibility with old presets.
Version improved performance of ENBoost.
All newest versions are compatible with each over and i recommed to use latest.

Hardware antialiasing (msaa) supported in versions and lower for all effects, all other version use deffered rendering which do not support aa. But in latest mods (starting from v if i remember, inclufing v) you may enable antialiasing, many effects will turn off automatically then, but in general colors will be the same.
Presets are compatible with other versions of the mod with minor changes. For example versions may use the same preset, too, , etc.
