1911 recoil springs

1911 recoil springs DEFAULT

Our pistol recoil springs are manufactured from Chrome Silicon wire.Chromium-silicon alloy is noted for its hardness and superior performance at extremely high stresses. Because of its heat resistance and hardness, the alloy can be used in valve springs and automatic transmissions at temperatures over 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Chrome-silicon was originally developed for recoil springs in anti-aircraft guns where high resistance to shock loads and long life is needed. The endurance limit of Chrome-silicon either before or after shot peening equals that of carbon steel in the same condition. At a given stress value, it can be used at a temperature 100 degrees Fahrenheit higher than Chromium-vanadium and higher hardness without breaking. This alloy provides excellent service for applications in the 5,000 to 50,000 cycle ranges. Available in a sensible range of popular weights, professional shooters and manufacturers who have tested our springs attest to the fact that our springs meet and maintain spec performance better than any other recoil spring on the market today. We perform the Cryogenic Processing of our springs in-house using state of the art equipment.

ISMI 1911 Government Round Wire Recoil Spring 1911 7 lb

This spring is intended to be used with 5" Government Model 1911s and 6" 1911s with our 6" Reverse Plugs / Spring Plugs.

Not recommended for use with Commander Models without removing multiple coils.

ISMI's proprietary design features enhance the spring's ability to hold the pistol in battery longer when fired to maximize energy dispersion and reduce sight movement. All ISMI Springs are made from silicone chrome instead of 150 year old music wire.

Every ISMI spring is heat treated, shot peened & stress relieved to enhance durability, consistency and reliability. ISMI is a contractor of the U.S. government and produces springs used in machine guns with incredibly high cycling rates. Also, the creator of ISMI springs obtained his knowledge from extensive research in the development of springs used in Indy car racing.

A note from the manufacturer: Maximum Service Temperature of ISMI's material goes up to 700 degrees. Music wire has a maximum service temperature of 250 degrees and can be negatively affected at temperatures as low as 175 degrees. This is important because temperatures approaching, or exceeding, the maximum service temperature are highly detrimental to spring life.

Exposure to maximum service temperatures promotes additional spring set and is detrimental to the relaxation of the spring. In other words, the spring will not decompress as rapidly as it should.

Available in 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20lbs.

In independent testing, ISMI spring have endured in excess of 100,000 compression cycles. We don’t recommend going that long between changes however. With an ISMI spring, practice routine maintenance and change it once a year.

Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. To prevent exposure, do not alter the product by welding, grinding, etc. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

1911 Recoil Spring, Government, 20 lb., .45 ACP

On most Government (5") size guns, we suggest you use a 17# to 18.5# spring for standard factory ammunition (2,000 rounds). If you plan on having an extended shooting session using hot or +P ammo, then opt for the 20# spring. It works well on ammunition like Winchester Lawman. If you want to shoot some reduced loads, then drop back to a 15#. Commander (4.25") size guns work best with a 18# Commander spring (1,500 rounds). For a steady diet of hotter ammo, put in a 22# Commander spring. Officer (3.6") size guns use the 24# spring. Since you change them every 500 rounds, that particular weight should suffice. It is also a good idea to change your mainspring (hammer spring) and firing pin spring every 5,000 rounds on all sizes.
The springs of a 1911 pistol relax over time, especially with hard use. Having the highest quality springs for your 1911 is critical for reliable function, whether on the range or in self-defense applications. These government length recoil springs are designed to shoulder the abuse of the frame and slide associated with heavy usage while providing consistent cycling performance round after round.

We sat down in cool seats and the car moved off. After looping between hotels, driving along the embankment, the car suddenly picked up. Speed. Where are we going. I asked in surprise.

We sat covered with the same blanket, our shoulders touching each other. Can we sit like this all night. Okay.

Oleg went for a belt for a long time. He deliberately did not prepare it in advance, he knew how anticipation aroused her. When he returned, She was almost calm. But the click of the double-folded belt made her flinch. It started to flow, this hot tide in the lower abdomen is hard to miss.
