Clicker Heroes is an idle game made by Playsaurus, the developers of "Cloudstone", a once popular MMORPG. Some features include an Export/Import feature, mute, an option for lower quality, manual and auto saving, offline farming, hard reset (deleting your save), achievements, statistics, a skill bar, 54 heroes, and the ability to donate for perks.

Description

General gameplay

The game has the player kill monsters in order to advance in zones, reaching new monsters that get more HP as progress is made. These monsters can be killed by clicking on them, but there's also the option to hire heroes to do that instead. Those heroes aren't free; they cost gold, which is dropped by the monsters that have been killed.

As the monsters get increasingly more HP, the Gold dropped after death increases as well, but the formula for the latter is slower than the first one, and the gold cost per DPS also increases as well. This makes it so that, the higher the zone reached, the slower progress becomes. This is where a special mechanic kicks in: Ascension. Ascension allows players to completely destroy their progress and start over, but with new permanent bonuses depending on how much progress the player has made before they ascended. These bonuses are referred to as Hero Souls, or HS. The type of bonus is up to the player; Hero Souls are just the currency between them and their bonus. While unspent, they provide a +10% damage bonus per Hero Soul, but they can be spent on Ancients if the player desires different bonuses. For a full list of bonuses, see below.

Eventually, the bonuses will start to decrease in value relatively, and the Ancient prices will keep getting higher and higher, rendering progress constantly slower. To make up for this, there are special super-Ascensions called Transcensions which destroy all Hero Souls and Ancients but in return, give the player valuable Ancient Souls, which can be spent on Outsiders to give various bonuses that speed up progress.

The ultimate goal of the game is to keep on reaching higher zones and killing stronger bosses. To do this at optimal speed, careful consideration on when to ascend and when to transcend is advised.

Additional Mechanics

Besides the general gameplay, Clicker Heroes has four extra mechanics that can help players reach their goal faster.

First off, there are Relics. These are little accesories that act like mini-Ancients, granting small Ancient bonuses without paying for the respective Ancient. Players can possibly gain a random Relic once during every Ascension (but only once), automatically activating its effect when they get it. Up to 4 Relic slots are available, and the 5th Relic and all Relics thereafter will end up in a Junk Pile, unactivated and ready to be destroyed upon Ascension, unless they are replaced with one of the current active Relics.

Secondly, there is an option to join a Clan. This is a group consisting of 1 to 10 players of the game who unite their powers once a day to defeat a collective enemy, called an Immortal. The difficulty of the Immortal depends on whether or not the Clan beat the Immortal of the previous day. If the Clan succeeds to kill an Immortal, everyone in the Clan will get an amount of Hero Souls based on their share of damage to the Immortal. Immortal damage can be raised by gaining Hero Souls.

A third thing that has been added, are Mercenaries. Mercenaries are little helpers that can be sent on quests to obtain certain bonuses, like additional Relics or free Hero Souls. The more time a Mercenary has put into questing, the higher their level will become, and the higher the reward/quest time ratio. But this bonus doesn't grow infinitely; all Mercenaries have a precalculated lifespan, and will eventually die during a quest, to be replaced with new Mercenaries that start back at level 1.

And last but not at least, there is a Ruby Shop where players can buy various bonuses using Rubies, which have a chance to be obtained from Clickables that appear randomly on the screen. For a full list of things that can be bought in the Ruby Shop, see below.

Platforms

This section describes the advantages and disadvantages of different platforms.

Web

The official website is always the first place to be updated, and cloud saves can be used if desired. Alternatively, the game can be played on Kongregate, or Armor Games. If a player has a Kongregate account and they own Kreds, they can spend them on rubies in the Shop watch adverts to earn rubies. (All other players can buy rubies directly with real money.) For a more kid-friendly website, Cool Math is available.

But unfortunately with the blocking of the Flash Player plugin on January 12th, this made its web version impossible to access the game.

Steam

On Steam, the content is similar to that of the CH.com website, but there are additional features such as Auto Clicker skins. Besides, of course, you can now export your progress on the web version, to Steam.

Mobile

On mobile, there are some disadvantages and some advantages. It's easier to play on the go (since Clicker Heroes requires attention) and achievements, such as reaching a specified zone, give rubies, rather than just personal satisfaction. On the other hand, everything in the Ruby Shop costs 10 times as much, while the rewards are only 6-7 times the Web version.

Console (PS4 and Xbox One)

The console version used to be similar to other versions, but updates have been discontinued and there are no clans.

Sequel

On July 16, 2018, Playsaurus released a Clicker Heroes sequel called Clicker Heroes II.

The game is available on Steam for $29.99/€24,99.

It is currently in Beta.

Sours: https://clickerheroes.fandom.com/wiki/Clicker_Heroes

This page is meant for players who are new to the game, having just started Clicker Heroes, and have not yet reached zone 300. At Zone 300, the ability toTranscend is unlocked, and many experienced players advise to Transcend at that zone.

The Basics of Clicker Heroes

The goal of Clicker Heroes is to optimize the speed at which you progress through zones. Each zone has a monster with a certain amount of health, and you will have to kill a certain amount of monsters to advance to the next zone. Every 5 zones, there is a Boss with 10x the health of a normal monster(which increases with zone count, and can be decreased with Bubos, Ancient of Diseases. On a Boss zone, there is a timer, and you will have to kill the Boss monster within the given time or you will fail the zone. Because of this, it is important to maximize your damage early on so you can pass through zones quickly. (Later on in the game, the focus will shift, but for now, maximing DPS is your goal.) This guide will teach you the fastest way to get to Zone 300.

Optimal Hero Leveling

By clicking on the monsters with your mouse, the first hero you hire, after gaining 5 coins, is Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer. She will help upgrade your click damage, making it easier for your to progress through the zones. Once you get her to level 10, you can get her first upgrade, which is called Big Clicks and will double her click damage.

Now when you get enough gold to hire 2treebeast.pngTreebeast, do so. He will deal damage over time, called DPS (damage per second). This kind of damage is different from click damage, as you won't need to click for him to do damage because he will damage the monsters himself. Level him up to level 10, and buy his first upgrade, called Fertilizer, which will double his DPS. Note that each level requires more and more gold to level up a hero. This is because every level requires about 1.07× as much gold to level up, while the damage increase is linear until level 200. This is why it is not optimal to focus all of your gold into one hero, not yet.

You will then earn enough gold to hire 3ivan.pngIvan, the Drunken Brawler, and then level him up. You'll want to get him to level 10, where you will be able to buy his first upgrade, Hard Cider. You will then hire Brittany nogild.pngBrittany, Beach Princess, level her up to level 10, and buy her first upgrade. You will do the same with 5fisherman.pngThe Wandering Fisherman, levelling him up to level 10, buying his first upgrade. Now level up Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer to level 25, and buy her 2nd upgrade, Clickstorm. This upgrade is a skill, which can be used to click on monsters automatically. It is advised to use this skill when your progress has stopped. Then hire 6betty.pngBetty Clicker. You'll get Betty to level 10, but instead of buying her first upgrade, you will move on and hire 7samurai.pngThe Masked Samurai. Level him to level 10, as usual, and buy his first upgrade.

As a general rule, you should get the upgrade on one hero, then move on to the next. The steps below are not necessary, but they are slightly more optimal.

Here are the next steps:

  1. Level 2treebeast.pngTreebeast to level 100, and buy his last upgrade only.
  2. Level 3ivan.pngIvan, the Drunken Brawler up to level 100, and buy his 4th and 5th upgrades.
  3. Hire Leon nogild.pngLeon, level him up to level 10, and buy his first upgrade.
  4. Hire 9forestseer.pngThe Great Forest Seer, level him up to level 10, buy his first upgrade.
  5. Level 5fisherman.pngThe Wandering Fisherman to level 100, and buy his last 2 upgrades.
  6. Hire Alexa-Summer.pngAlexa, Assassin, level her up to level 10.
  7. Hire 10natalia.pngNatalia, Ice Apprentice, level her up to level 10, buy her first upgrade.
  8. Level 6betty.pngBetty Clicker to level 100, and buy all of her upgrades.
  9. Hire 11mercedes.pngMercedes, Duchess of Blades, level her up to level 10, buy her first upgrade.
  10. Level Leon nogild.pngLeon to level 75, and buy his last upgrade.
  11. Hire 12bobby.pngBobby, Bounty Hunter, level him to level 10, buy his first upgrade.
  12. Hire 13broyle.pngBroyle Lindeoven, Fire Mage, level him to level 10.
  13. Hire 14sirgeorge.pngSir George II, King's Guard, level him up to level 10, buy his first upgrade.
  14. Level Alexa-Summer.pngAlexa, Assassin to level 100, and buy her 1st, 4th, and 5th upgrade.
  15. Hire 15kingmidas.pngKing Midas, level him up to level 10.
  16. Hire 16referi.pngReferi Jerator, Ice Wizard, level him up to level 10, buy his first upgrade.
  17. Level 11mercedes.pngMercedes, Duchess of Blades and 12bobby.pngBobby, Bounty Hunter to level 100, and buy their last upgrade each.
  18. Hire 17abbadon.pngAbaddon, level him up to level 10, buy his first upgrade.

  38. Level Frostleaf nogild.pngFrostleaf to level 50, buy his 3rd upgrade, level him up to level 75 and buy his last upgrade.

This is how you will play for a while, until a certain point. Note that the next hero, Dread Knight-2.pngDread Knight, will not have to be hired. He is too expensive to hire in your first ascension, and most likely even your first Transcension.

Primal Bosses

You may have noticed that every 5 zones, there is a boss, who is about 10 times as strong as a normal monster, and requires you to defeat it in 30.0 seconds or less. Past Zone 100, every boss has a chance to be Primal. These bosses, upon being killed, will grant you Hero Souls, which can be acquired upon Ascending. You will not gain Hero Souls immediately after beating a boss(with the exception of Omeet, the Zone 100 boss, who grants you 1 Hero Soul upon death the first time you kill him).

The amount of Hero Souls gained from killing a Primal Boss can be increased with the OutsiderPonyboy, however you have not unlocked this yet. It can also be increased with Transcendent Power, but that has not been unlocked.

When To Ascend

Normally, it is advised to Ascend after you start failing bosses consistently. This is the most efficient path. However, if you have not reached Zone 130, do not ascend. This is because the bosses on zones 100, 110, 120, and 130 are always Primal Bosses. Once you ascend for the first time, ascend when you fail to kill a boss past zone 130.

How to Ascend

To ascend, level 19amenhotep.pngAmenhotep to level 150 and buy his last upgrade, ASCENSION. When you ascend, you will restart back at zone 1, and you'll have to buy your heroes again. You'll keep your rubies, your achievements, your ancients, your relics, your clans, and your mercenaries. The difference is that you will have earned HeroSoul.pngHero Souls, each of which gives an additive 10% bonus to your base DPS. They will help make you stronger in order to progress even further into the zones. Once you earn enough HeroSoul.pngHero Souls, you'll be able to pass zone 130, 135, 140, and so on, until you reach zone 300.

Idle/Active/Hybrid

You may have noticed, that with the ancients Siyalatas.pngSiyalatas, Libertas.pngLibertas, or Nogardnit.pngNogardnit, you may occasionally see a text next to your DPS reading (idle). Idle is activated there has not been a click on a monster in 60 seconds. (Clicking once in a period of 5 minutes will not deactivate idle). During idle, all idle boosts will be activated.

With the Ancient Juggernaut.pngJuggernaut, you may see a text next to your DPS reading (Combo [number]x). This is the amount of times you have clicked within the last 4 minutes and 40 seconds. This number is multiplied by your Juggernaut level, and multiples your DPS. After 4 minutes and 40 seconds (280 seconds) your combo will begin to drop 5% every second.

Idle means to have the (idle) status as much as possible, and to use those buffs to boost progression.

Active means to have the various DPS and click boosting upgrades and Ancients, using clicks to deal damage rather than DPS.

Hybrid is a mixture of both that utilizes parts of both builds to maximize progression speed, such as Timelapses.

Picking a Build

You need to choose what type of playing style you will have, Idle, Active or a Hybrid of both.

Most players will want to pick Idle as a preferred start. Idle doesn't require you to look at the game as much as Active does. However, those who are trying to speedrun or that have a lot of time to burn may want to pick Active as it is a bit faster overall.

In the newest version of the game idle softcaps at 180K, meaning you cannot go meaningfully farther, while Active and Hybrid cap at 5.46 million. Additionally, you progress through zones faster with active, so once you get 2 autoclickers, transition to active upon transcending if you have played Idle beforehand.

Ancients

If a player decides they want to play the Idle playstyle, it is recommended to summon Siyalatas.pngSiyalatas, Libertas.pngLibertas, Mammon.pngMammon and Mimzee.pngMimzee. Level them all the same and keep unspent HeroSoul.pngHero Souls equal to (Siyalatas Level+1)^2.

If a player decides they want to play Active playstyle, it is recommended to summon Juggernaut.pngJuggernaut, Mammon.pngMammon, and Mimzee.pngMimzee. Level them all the same and keep unspent

HeroSoul.png

Rubies

Rubies are the premium currency of Clicker Heroes. They can be bought with money, but can also be collected from Clans, Mercenaries, or Clickables.

The first thing you should buy with Rubies are 2 Auto Clickers. If running an active playstyle, they will help you to click while still offline. If running an idle playstyle, they will help you increase your damage via the ancient Nogardnit.

Next, you can buy the permanent x2 damage multiple, but this is optional.

Continue to buy Auto Clickers until you have 5 of them. Do not buy more.

After that, save for Timelapses and Quick Ascensions, which will be useful later on in the game. Do not use them right now.

Do not buy Relics or Gilds. Relics do not give a strong boost, and Gilds can be earned from Zone Progression.

Relics

Relics can be accessed by the 5th tab. Starting from the first ascension, there is a chance of a Relic Ooze spawning on any zone, which gives you a random relic. A relic gives buffs to random Ancients.

it is recommended to equip relics for your damage ancients, or for ancients such as Kumawakamaru, that are costly but still give a useful boost to progression. Do not equip relics with skill buffs, or for ancients that are not your damage source.

Later on in the game, the only relics you will want to equip are the relics boosting skill durations, but this is not the case for you right now.

Clans

Clans are a mechanic unlockable upon reaching Zone 50. The game will prompt you to create a nickname which will be displayed to other members of your clan, and will prompt you to pick a class. (Pick any class that seems good to you, as no class has special abilities).

You can create a clan for 50 Ruby.pngRubies, however, it is not advised to do that right now as you do not have a lot of rubies. You can use the random generator to find a clan, however the system is unreliable and will send you to inactive clans most of the time. It is advised to use tools like the Clicker Heroes Clan Recruitment Subreddit, or the #clan-recruitment channel in the Clicker Heroes Official Discord.

The first notable thing about a clan is the Clan Chatroom, which allows members to communicate with other members.

The second tab, marked with an eye symbol, is the Immortals tab. Every day, members can attack the Immortal, which will have a certain weakness(Physical, Mage, or Holy). Upon defeating the Immortal, you will be rewarded with Immortal Souls and Rubies which can be claimed in the Reward Box right below the Immortal level. Immortal Souls can be used to level up. Every time you level up you gain x3 the damage.

The third tab, marked with a skull, is the Legacy Raids tab. This Immortal can be killed multiple times, and will reward you with 10% the souls you have right now. It's not very significant, so you can attack it if you want, but don't worry too much about it.

The fourth tab, marked with a gear, will give the options to Respec Class or Leave Clan. It is never recommended to Respec Class, as the buff gained from a weakness is not as significant as the damage buff gained from a level. You may leave the clan if you feel like it is not for you.

Clan leaders will have a fifth tab, where than can promote others to clan leader or kick somebody out of the clan, if they are inactive or abusive.

Mercenaries

Mercenaries are a mechanic unlocked when you first Ascend. Mercenaries can go on a plethora of different quests, ranging from 5 minutes to two days, and can quest for Skill Activations, Gold, Relics, or Rubies. Sometimes, you can quest for new Mercenaries, but the maximum limit is 5.

With your first Mercenary, send it on a quest for another. Repeat this process until you have 5 Mercenaries, as there will always be a recruitment quest if you do not have 5 Mercenaries. Do not ever buy Mercenaries with Rubies.

Upon reaching 5 Mercenaries, you should follow the standard quest order. Rubies are the most valuable quests. The rule of thumb listed below will be based on that.

Rule Of Thumb(most value to least value): 4h ruby > 2h ruby > 1h ruby > 30m ruby > 15m ruby > 8h ruby > 5m ruby > 5m-4h non-ruby > 24h ruby > 8h-24h non-ruby > 48h ruby > 48h non-ruby

This will change a little bit if your Mercenaries are high enough level, but you shouldn't worry about that now.

Gilding

Gilding is a mechanic unlocked at Zone 110, where you get your first gild. If you have already seen the standard gilding chart, don't worry about it, as you have no yet transcended. Instead, follow the Power Five rule of thumb. Upon Transcending, follow the gilding chart listed above, or the one listed in General Tips.

The Power Five

Visit Power Five for a more in-depth introduction on these heroes.

Upon Ascending for the first few times, you should start using the Power Five. These Heroes are 2treebeast.pngTreebeast, 3ivan.pngIvan, the Drunken Brawler, Brittany nogild.pngBrittany, Beach Princess, The Masked Samurai, and The Great Forest Seer. These heroes have great cost/DPS ratios and thus are advised before Transcending.

  1. Check which of the Power Five can be leveled to 1000. Plug the equation 1.07^(1000)*[startingCost] into a calculator and check if your current gold is that value.
  2. Check which of those heroes have the most gilds.
  3. Level that hero as much as possible, preferably with by pressing Z (x25).

Achievements

For now, don't worry about achievements. Few of them offer rewards, and those that do are not worth it.

Transcension

When you beat Zone 160, the Transcension tab will unlock, however you can't do anything with it until you beat Zone 300. Immediately after beating Zone 300, Transcend and follow the Outsider Calculator.

Move to General Tips for more progression tips. Alternatively, use the Clicker Heroes Official Discord or the Clicker Heroes Official Subreddit for tips(13+ only).

Clicker Heroes is a free-to-playvideo game. Playsaurus made it. It is an idle game.[1]

Clicker Heroes is a spinoff of the Playsaurus game Cloudstone.[2]

Clicker Heroes was released in 2014 for web browsers. It was also released for phones in 2015. In 2017, it was released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4gaming consoles.[3]

Gameplay[change | change source]

Players play Clicker Heroes by clicking on creatures (known as “monsters”) to kill them. Monsters give gold when the player kills them. Players can use gold to buy heroes. These automatically kill monsters.[4]Clicker Heroes works without the need for the player to do anything.[5]

Release[change | change source]

Clicker Heroes was released on the gaming website Kongregate in August 2014.[6] It was also released on Armor Games in September 2014.[7]

Clicker Heroes was released onto the Steam platform in May 2015 for Microsoft Windows and OS X.[8] On August 20, 2015, it was also released for iOS and Android.[9]

Reception[change | change source]

Reception

Critics quite liked Clicker Heroes. Nathan Grayson of Kotaku called it “[a] perfect office space distraction”.[1] Christian Donlan, a writer for Eurogamer, said that the game was his “office secret” and that it was very addictive.[4] Sammy Barker of Push Square gave Clicker Heroes a score of 5/10.[10]

Because Clicker Heroes was well-liked on Steam, there are now many other idle games on that platform.[11]

Second game[change | change source]

Playsaurus made a second Clicker Heroes game called Clicker Heroes 2.[12] Unlike the first Clicker Heroes, Clicker Heroes 2 is not free-to-play.[13]

Legal issues[change | change source]

Clicker Heroes was removed for a short time from the Apple App Store in May 2019. This was because a Chinese company made a clone of Clicker Heroes. They then asked Apple to take the original version of the game off the app store.[14]

Clicker Heroes is an idle game that was developed by American independent studio Playsaurus. It was originally released for browsers in 2014, for mobile devices in 2015, and for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles in 2017. The game is a spinoff of Playsaurus's earlier game Cloudstone, from which it uses many graphic elements.[1]

Clicker Heroes is free-to-play, but players can use microtransactions to buy an in-game currency called "rubies". This currency is not required to progress through the game;[2] it was added some time into the game's life and multiple gameplay mechanics center around obtaining the premium currency in-game.

Clicker Heroes received positive reception from critics; Nathan Grayson of Kotaku called it "[a] perfect office space distraction".[2]

Gameplay[edit]

Level 64, with the upgrade screen on the left and enemy on the right

In Clicker Heroes, the player clicks on the enemy to damage and eventually kill it. Once killed, the enemy drops gold that can be used to upgrade and purchase characters. Purchased characters automatically damage the enemy, increasing the player's total damage per second.[3] The game runs without the player needing to do anything.[4] The player must kill ten enemies in one level to advance to the next level. Starting at level five, every fifth level is a boss level, which only requires the killing of one enemy to advance. Boss levels have a timer; the player must kill the boss within the allotted time. Between levels 100 and 1,000, every hundredth zone's boss is a "centurion" boss that drops Hero Souls when killed. Additionally, every boss after level 100 has a 25% chance of being "primal". Primal bosses give much greater amounts of Hero Souls in later stages of the game.[5][6]

The goal of Clicker Heroes is to obtain Hero Souls, which can be used to buy Ancients that give the player benefits, the nature of which depends on which Ancient is purchased. After primal bosses are killed, the player must perform an Ascension before they receive Hero Souls.[5][7]

Clicker Heroes was released on the gaming website Kongregate in August 2014,[8] and on Armor Games in September 2014.[9] It was released onto the Steam platform in May 2015 for Microsoft Windows and OS X.[10] On August 20, 2015, Clicker Heroes was released for iOS and Android.[11] Version 1.0 was released in June 2016.[12] In May 2019, the iOS version was generating an income of $200-$300 per day until an international trademark dispute caused Apple to remove the game from the app store.[13]

Reception[edit]

Reception

Clicker Heroes received very positive reception from critics. Kotaku's Nathan Grayson said the game "[is a] perfect office space distraction".[2]Eurogamer writer Christian Donlan said the game was his "gaming secret" and is very addictive.[3]Forbes writer Paul Tassi said if the game gained traction in the mobile market, it could become the top mobile game of 2015.[14] Sammy Barker of Push Square gave the game a 5/10 score, stating, "Too many brickwalls [sic] prevent Clicker Heroes from reaching the highs of AdVenture Capitalist, but this is still a frighteningly addictive incremental title".[15]

Clicker Heroes' popularity on Steam initiated the release of other incremental games on that platform.[16]Clicker Heroes has inspired the creation of other games such as The Longing.[17]

Sequel[edit]

Playsaurus created a sequel called Clicker Heroes 2, which was available on Steam Early Access as of 2018.[18] Unlike the original Clicker Heroes, Clicker Heroes 2 is not free to play.[19]Gravity hired Playsaurus to develop a Ragnarok Online-themed version of Clicker Heroes that was titled Ragnarok Clicker, which was released on August 3, 2016.[20][better source needed]

DO LEVEL 1 AO 1000! - Clicker Heroes

Heroes are the heart of Clicker Heroes and the main source of DPS (damage per second) in the game. They are the game's characters that can be hired with a certain amount of Gold.pngGold earned from defeating monsters (this cost can be decreased by hiring and leveling up the correct Ancient, in occurrence of the ancient Dogcog.pngDogcog). Heroes automatically deal damage over time (except for Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer, who only upgrades base click damage). Currently, there are 54 Heroes in the game.

Mechanics

Leveling Heroes

The player can level a hero up by clicking the "LVL UP" button next to the hero's name after hiring it. Shift+Click levels them by a max of 10, Z+Click levels up in increments of 25, Ctrl+Click levels them in increments of 100, and Q+Click levels up in the maximum increment actually purchasable with the player's current amount of Gold.pngGold up to 10,000 levels. Pressing T will toggle between the levels. Leveling up a hero increases the amount of DPS it does. Leveling up a hero will also increase the cost of the next level up by almost 7% (the exact increase is 6.975%). This will result in a near doubling of cost for every 10 levels. The four Ace Scouts, added in patch 1.0e11, have a 22% increase in cost per level, resulting in over double the leveling cost every 5 levels.

To find the cost of levelling a hero in the future use:
e.g. To level 2treebeast.pngTreebeast from level 114 to 115 it would cost . But with Dogcog.pngDogcog at level 7 for a 6.69% hero cost reduction, it would be .

To find the cost for one of the Ace Scouts (added in patch 1.0e11) use:

Each hero comes with a series of upgrades that become available when they're levelled up. These upgrades allow the player to multiply the hero's DPS, multiply the amount of Gold.pngGold gained, increase DPS of all heroes, click damage, and obtain new skills. The hero Wepwawet.pngWepwawet does have 2 upgrades that each multiplies another hero's DPS, namely 6betty.pngBetty Clicker & 15kingmidas.pngKing Midas. Also, Cadu.pngCadu, Tomb Guardian and Ceus.pngCeus, Tomb Guardian have upgrades that improve each other.

Level Bonuses

Every hero except Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer gets a 4× damage multiplier every 25 levels from level 200 upwards, and a 10x multiplier every 1000 levels until 8000. This makes the earlier heroes viable in the late game, but the cap means that later heroes will ultimately get the player further. However, the cost of the heroes is about 5x more expensive every 25 levels (1.07=~5.427), so they become about 35.7% less effective every 25 levels (past level 8,000), 21.15 times less effective every 250 levels, 200,160 times less effective every 1,000 levels, and 103,223,913,637,256,445,703,897,099,064,455,967,375,759,839,489,322,820(1e53) times less effective every 10,000 levels.

There is another exception to these rules: all heroes after Frostleaf nogild.pngFrostleaf have a 5× damage multiplier every 25 levels from 525 to 725, instead of the 4× damage multiplier for other heroes.

In patch 1.0e10, five new heroes were added, starting with Xavira.pngXavira. These heroes gain a 4.5× damage multiplier every 25 levels, starting from level 200, but do not gain the 10× damage multipliers every 1000 levels from level 1000 to level 8000. This makes them more effective than the heroes before them. This means the heroes starting with Xavira will be about 20.6% more effective every 25 levels, 6.514 times more effective every 250 levels, 1,800 time more effective every 1,000 levels, and 357,084,781,870,941,892,075,577,118,803,109(~3.5e32) times more effective every 10,000 levels

In patch 1.0e11, four new heroes were also added. These heroes have a cost increase of 22% per level rather than 7%, but instead of a 4× or 4.5× damage multiplier, these heroes have a huge 1000× damage multiplier every 25 levels.

DPS Bonuses

There are some heroes that give you a multiplicative global DPS bonus. The final DPS multiplier is ~80.677 (80.67699371337890625 to be exact).

The following heroes have DPS bonuses, in order of appearance:

Gilded Heroes

Gilded Heroes receive a stackable +50% damage bonus each time they receive a gild. Gilding a hero will also change their appearance. A detailed view of the Gilded Heroes can be accessed by clicking on the "Gilded" button at the bottom of the Hero list.
Argaiv.pngArgaiv increases the damage bonus from gilds. Despite having a gilded sprite, Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer is the only hero that cannot be gilded by conventional means. If she could be gilded, or even just has a damage multiplier, she would be extremely powerful.

Acquiring Gilds

A random gild is awarded for beating level 100, and for every 10 levels thereafter. These random gilds are awarded only once per 10 levels and will not be given again after ascending, yet will after a transcendence. After an ascension, rewards continue as normal once reaching this transcension's Highest Zone Ever.

In the Shop, three random hero gilds can be purchased at any time for 30 Ruby.pngRubies. For mobile, the cost is 200 Ruby.pngRubies. The detailed view screen can also be accessed from here by clicking the "?" button. If gilds are bought using real money, these "Paid Gilds" are given back after Transcendence by a small number every time the player receives a normal gild every 10 zones. By level 300, all purchased gilds have been returned to the player. Note that buying gilds is one of the worst ways to spend rubies, as buying 3 random gilds in the shop are basically advancing 30 levels past a hundred, that are above your highest level in your current transcension(just don't buy gilds unless you have an insane amount of rubies and need some quick gild dmg bonuses).

Reassigning Gilds

Gilds can also be moved from hero to hero for HeroSoul.pngHero Souls in the detailed view.
Clicking a gilded hero will remove one gild from that hero and randomly reassign it to another for two HeroSoul.pngHero Souls. Ctrl+Click will bypass the confirmation popup and instantly proceed to said transfer.
Shift+Clicking on a hero will move a gild from a random hero to the one selected for 80 HeroSoul.pngHero Souls. There is no actual way to transfer a gild from a precise hero to another precise hero: at least one of the two must be randomly chosen.

Holding 'Q'+Clicking on a hero will move all gilds that a player currently has to the selected hero. The cost of doing this is equal to 80 HeroSoul.pngHero Souls times the amount of gilds currently owned that are not on the selected hero.

Unused Heroes

With Steam releases of the game, in the game's directory, the sprites of all heroes can be found. Along with the normal heroes, there are several unused sprites in the game. There is no known way as of yet to make them appear in-game. Note: All of the unused sprites have a gilded sprite file, but is exactly the same as the normal sprite. Also, when viewing the large hero sprites, all unused sprites still have files that show their name but contain Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer's current sprite.

Princess 2

Looking at these sprites, we can see:

  • The "Dark Monk " sprite is very similar to Alexa-Summer.pngAlexa, Assassin's original sprite, but with different weapons, and so may have been the original planned sprite for her.
  • On the other hand, the "Dark Monk" sprite has the same weapons as Astraea.pngAstraea.
  • The "Warrior" sprite is the sprite used for gilded Cid-Summer.pngCid, the Helpful Adventurer (only seen through a bug), which suggests that originally it was going to be possible for Cid to be gilded.
  • The "Town Drunk" sprite may have been planned as a sprite for 3ivan.pngIvan, the Drunken Brawler, since it has a name featuring "drunk".
  • The "Bandit" sprite shares features with 18mazhu.pngMa Zhu.
  • The "Link_4" Sprite may be a reference to Link, from The Legend Of Zelda. It bears resemblance to Sir George II.
