[Costco] Danby Upright Freezer 6 cu ft $299.99 in store
- Price:
- $299.99
- Savings:
- $150 off
- Retailer:
- Costco

Usually it's $449.99 on the website but $150 off in store.
I need an upright freezer like this one but only if I didn't spend my money on buying GOM, 3 WD HDDs and not a small hatchback...
For those who are able to and needs one, you should get one.

Upright has its fans.Pingalino wrote: ↑ Home depot has a 5.5 ft chest for $189 taxes in (ON). As long as you are OK with paying an extra $100 ish for .5 ft and upright, to each their own. Thanks for posting OP.
I actually bought the Danby chest from Costco on Friday, though i had to get a friend to grab it as it would not fit in my subcompact, but to each their own.
Which is why i am curious the dimensions, would this have fit in my car?
Upright uses more electricity, costs more and will need more Tetris-ing of large items but those who prefer it (or can fit it in their car) may go for it. This is $120 cheaper than Costco's website for the same item last time i checked (unless its on sale today).

The dimensions are 22.6 x 23.8 x 57.4 and it's most likely for the freezer itself, not the box.Quentin5 wrote: ↑ Do you have a bigger picture (or can zoom in) on the price label? The dimensions are hard to make out because RFD downsamples uploaded images.

For my chest its surprisingly only an inch bigger for the box. I have not unboxed it yet but i assume there is not much foam protecting it

Costco in Surrey is the only location in the Greater Vancouver area that has them in stock currently. There were about six left in Surrey after I bought one tonight. Costco Richmond told me they have 20 on order.

We need a freezer, I'm indifferent as to chest vs upright. Although, for a chest freezer, I would probably stick with something like this size at 6 cu ft. So things don't get easily lost/burried.
For an upright, I might go larger like a 12/13 cu ft. There's a Frigidaire one I saw that is well insulated and sealed, such that if power cuts out, it will be good for two days (assuming you don't open it of course).
Reason for the size disparity, apart from the things getting lost, is also because of the manoeuvrability of them. Upright can be moved down flight of stairs to basement a bit easier for my situation.

Can't really tell you how reliable or good this brand is but it is a Canadian company with appliances being manufactured from out of the country. Besides, with Costco warranty and maybe the extended warranty, probably shouldn't have to worry too much.kenchau wrote: ↑ Is Danby reliable as a brand for freezers?

Costco sells this Danby Chest Freezer for $449.99. Scroll down for photos. This is the first time I have seen a chest freezer sold inside Costco. I know they usually have these online, but I haven’t seen one like this in store. These are GREAT to have in the house. For all you hunters & fisherman out there, it’s a great way to store lots of food. With all these wildfires, snowstorms & other natural disasters happening, it’s not a bad idea to have a chest freezer full of food just in case of emergencies. As you can see, Costco only had a couple out on the floor. I’m not sure if they had any more in the back, but I expect to see the few they had on the floor go quick. Here is a little more information about this Chest Freezer……..
- Danby Chest Freezer Model: DCF145A3WDB
- Manual Defrost Design with Convenient Front Mount Defrost Drain
- Garage Ready: Freezer Can Perform In Temperatures from 0F to 110F (-17C to 43C)
- Front Mount Thermostat with “Power-On” Indicator Light
- Two Heavy Duty Wire Baskets and Wire Compartment Divider
- Energy Efficient Interior White LED Light
- Dimensions: 29.69D x 32.69H x 60.44W Inches
- Warranty: 5 Year Parts & Labor

Danby DCF145A3WDB Chest Freezer, 14.5 Cubic Foot
This is a GREAT deal for a chest freezer this large. Costco currently sells it online for $549.99. That’s $100 more for shipping & handling. If you can get this in store, save yourself $100. Costco also carries another small Danby Freezer that is half the size of this one. It’s model number is DCF072A3WDB-6. The reviews are GREAT (4.7/5). I can only assume this Danby will have similar qualities & be a great freezer (It’s currently got no ratings). If you’re looking for different size/style chest freezer’s, make sure to look at these HIGHLY RATED ones. Also make sure to look at the portable chest freezer. This would be GREAT for traveling…….

[Costco] Danby 6 cu.ft. Stainless Steel Upright Freezer $240
- Deal Link:
- https://www.costco.ca/danby-6-cu.-ft.-s ... 95566.html
- Price:
- $239.99
- Savings:
- $60
- Expiry:
- June 21, 2021
- Retailer:
- Costco

Seemed like a good deal to me--online price is $400, in-store price was $300, but on sale $60 off. Not sure if this is mentioned in another thread but I couldn't find anything.
Slim, upright, manual defrost, stainless-look front (magnets stick to both sides and front though front needs stronger magnets). 5yr warranty. Shelves are not moveable as they are the evap tubes, but the drawers can be removed. Says "garage ready" in the description though mine is being used indoors.
Bought two--one for said sister as it was her bday last week; one for myself

This was found at Costco Vaughan West location. There were seemingly none when my sister took the picture (?) but when I went there were some skids full maybe like 10+; after I went back for the second one though there were only like 3-4 left.

Yes, also when its too cold, the freezer may not kick on when ambient temp is too low. Garage ready freezers are built to handle larger fluctuations in ambient temperatures.Skilas wrote: ↑ What makes it garage compatible? Is it being able to handle big temperature swings?

For sure. I’m waiting for a good dead on an auto defrost. Standing freezers let in a lot of warmer air when you open them so they frost quickly.Mmagic888 wrote: ↑I’ve used a couple manual defrost freezers in the past and after owning an automatic defrost freezer, will never go back to a manual defrost one.

Here's the Frigidaire version of this Danby freezer: https://www.frigidaire.ca/Kitchen/Freez ... FUM0623AW/
I own the Frigidaire version and it's worked just fine in garages.
Only issue with it is the lack of adjustable shelves.

I would usually say the same as you guys but...it's $240 lol. Can't have everything for that price. In fact you could probably buy 3 of these before getting to one with auto defrost. However, I'm not sure slim freezers like this are made with auto defrost or at least they are few and far between.Canadianbac0n wrote: ↑ big pain in the rear with the manual defrost, after being spoiled on frost free. mind you, a frost free eats like twice the energy of a manual frost. still worth it.
Hmm you know what I wasn't 100% sure. As said I forgot to take a picture of the sign and the one I got via text is too low-res to make it out. I was just going by some other signs I noticed on the way out that had items with sales ending on the 21st, it's quite possible the sale ended yesterday though--sorry.EPcjay wrote: ↑I called my local Costco. Night show and there was no one in the hall, we caressed each other, Lera bent over and gave me a blowjob, I carefully put on a condom and put Leroux on his lap, we sat in this position, almost the entire film, kissed and Lera moaned a little and asked to add pace, at the end of the film we went to her house and did our favorite thing.
Let me remind you that Lera is the sexiest girl in college. 25 years old, short height 168 centimeters, sexy figure, second size breasts, elastic and toned ass.
