Fitbit is one of the best health and fitness apps currently available in the Windows Store and there are only good words to be said about it, but if you are interested in the desktop software that lets you set up a new Fitbit device or synchronize with the wireless dongle, then that’s what this article is about. The software isn’t too complicated and doesn’t have plenty of features, as its main job is to send data to Fitbit’s servers. You can do the same thing with the touch version or with other mobile apps.

It is really easy to set up a new Fitbit device, and all you have to do is to download the free software to link your device to Fitbit’s servers. At the moment, you can synchronize the data from the following devices – Force, Flex, One or Zip. I have a good old Zip myself and I’m very pleased with its features. Having used Fitbit Connect on my Windows 10 laptop, I can say that the software works flawlessly and does the job as it’s supposed to.

What music services work with a Fitbit smartwatch?

Jimmy Westenberg / Android Authority

A good playlist can deliver an adrenaline rush at just the right moment when you’re in the middle of a training session. Modern smartwatches often include the ability to play and store music, allowing you to leave your phone at home during a workout. If you happen to own a Fitbit smartwatch, we’ll walk you through how to set up Fitbit music services on your Fitbit Sense, Versa, or Ionic smartwatch.

Can I play music on my Fitbit?

First things first, not every Fitbit can play music. If you want to store music on your Fitbit, you will need a Fitbit Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Versa, or Ionic smartwatch. Note that the Fitbit Versa Lite does not support music storage.

With that in mind, there are multiple ways to add music to your Fitbit smartwatch. If you have a Deezer or Pandora account, Fitbit provides an app to synchronize your playlists offline. The other method requires you to have an offline library of music. Let’s explore both options.

How to put music on a Fitbit smartwatch

Transferring local music to a Fitbit is a fairly straightforward process that requires the installation of an app on your computer.

  1. Start off by heading over to on your PC or Mac to download the Fitbit Connect app. Once downloaded, complete installation to proceed.
  2. Opening the app will prompt you with three different options. You cannot set up a Fitbit smartwatch using a desktop and will need to use the mobile app for that.
    1. Need additional help? Refer to our step by step Fitbit setup tutorial for more details.
  1. Tapping the Manage My Music tile will prompt you to login to your Fitbit account.
  2. Now head on over to your watch and swipe to the Music app. Tap the Transfer Music button to switch on Wi-Fi and make your watch discoverable to the app.
  3. Back on the desktop app, you will need to import an existing playlist or create a new one to beam it over to the Fitbit. You can tap the gear icon on the top-right corner to select folders that you want to import into the app.
  4. Once your playlists are set up or imported, tap the circle icon next to them to begin the transfer process. Be patient — this takes a while.

Your selected playlists should now be on your Fitbit. Time to pair your favorite Bluetooth earbuds and go for a run.

How to sync music from Deezer to Fitbit

If you’ve gone all-in on streaming music and don’t have a local music library, Fitbit provides a way to sync your playlists from Deezer. You will, of course, need a subscription for Deezer Premium to make use of this function.

  1. Head to the Music page from the settings menu in the Fitbit app.
  2. Select Deezer.
  3. Open the Deezer app on your watch to gain access to the activation code. Head on over to to pair the watch with your Deezer account.
  4. Login or register for the service. You will now be presented a list of playlists — both your own and those curated by Deezer — to sync down to your Fitbit.
  5. Select the playlist and sit back. This process does take some time depending on the number of tracks you’re trying to sync. Charging your Fitbit while syncing music is recommended.

How to sync music from Pandora to Fitbit

  1. Similar to the process for Deezer, head over to the Music page under your Fitbit’s settings in the Fitbit app.
  2. Select Pandora and tap on the login button.
  3. You will need to subscribe to the top-end Pandora Premium service to be able to download music to your Fitbit. A one-month trial is available if you want to give it a shot before committing to the service.
  4. Once you’ve logged in, you will notice that Pandora doesn’t have quite as many options as Deezer. The integration will let you choose up to three of your preferred stations. You may also choose playlists from Pandora’s Workout selection. Additionally, a Thumbprint radio station based on your listening habits is also downloaded.

How to stream Spotify on your Fitbit

Spotify streaming on Fitbit requires a Spotify Premium account, as well as the dedicated Spotify app that can be installed via the Fitbit mobile app.

  1. Open the Fitbit app on your phone.
  2. Tap apps.
  3. Under All Apps, you’ll spot the Spotify app. Tap to install.
  4. Now head on over to My Apps and tap the gear icon next to Spotify.
  5. Log in to your Spotify account.

Unlike some of the other streaming services, Spotify on Fitbit smartwatches does not offer an offline mode and instead acts more like a remote for streaming from your phone.

However, it does add Spotify Connect functionality which means that you can now use your Fitbit to control playback on any other supported device as well. Beyond that, the app lets you play music from your library and recently played, but won’t let you search for playlists.

How ToFitbit, fitness trackers, smartwatches, Wearables

I have a charge 2, but now I purchased the new Ionic. Therefor, I already installed the fitbit app on mij Android phone. I managed to add the Ionic and it is working fine with my phone.

But now I want to put music on my Ionic, and apparently you cannot do this with a phone, you need the desktop version. I have a recent laptop (<1y old) with Win10 with the desktop app on it. But the ionic wasn't showing up, and since it mentioned bluetooth issues a lot, i uninstalled the app (right-click > uninstall) it in order to re-install it with the last updated version. What a big mistake. troubles!

I clicked  -> download from windows store. Than i'm taken to a windows website, and I click "get the app". Windows store opens, but there is no "install" or "download" button! Moreover, I read the message about system requirements not being met, so I cannot rate the app or review it.

What's next? I want to put music on my Ionic! No running for me without music 😞

Edit: I tried the .exe-file of the fitbit connect, but it wants to take me to the windows store as well. When I skip this "update" and click on the music icon, it keeps saying "looking for your Ionic". They are in the same WIFI network.

And by the way: I want the "real" app back with the dashboard and challenges. Not this connect thing...

Fitbit Connect – Manage Your Fitbit from Your PC
Put the Fitbit tracker on your wrist and it will track your steps, your heart rate, and other fitness-related metrics. To access these metrics, you can do one of the following: take a look at the device’s screen, get the Fitbit mobile app, or get the Fitbit desktop application – Fitbit Connect.

Fitbit Connect is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X as well. The steps you must go through to install Fitbit Connect on a Windows-powered PC are presented in the Quick Look video that accompanies this article. Watch it to see how easy it is to install Fitbit Connect on a Windows PC.

By default, Fitbit Connect puts an icon in the system tray. I bring this up only to mention that you can bring up Fitbit Connect’s interface by double clicking said icon. From the interface you can set up a new Fitbit device, sync your Fitbit data, and check for device updates.

If you go with the option to set up a new Fitbit device, you’ll be presented with two choices: log into your account to add or replace a device; create a new account to set up your device. Creating a new account is quite simple. First up, you have to choose if you want to sign up with Facebook, Google or your email. Then you have to provide a bit of info about yourself: name, gender, height, weight, and so on. And last but not least, you have to pick the type of Fitbit tracker you want to set up.

Fitbit Connect is free software, just like the Fitbit mobile app. So if you purchase a Fitbit activity tracker, you can access the metrics it collects by using the free Fitbit application for desktop or the free Fitbit app for mobile.

Easily set up, sync, and check for updates for your Fitbit activity tracker. Conveniently do all these on your desktop by using the free Fitbit Connect application.

Fitbit Connect is available for Windows and Mac; installing it on a Windows PC is an effortless task. Double click the system tray icon to bring up Fitbit Connect’s interface. Use Fitbit Connect to set up your device, sync your data, and check for device updates. Help documentation is available online. Fitbit Connect is free software.

None that I could think of.

Again. I yelled at the whole apartment. There was so much sperm that it seemed that the Devil himself was waiting for this moment. I stared into the reflection in the mirror as a stream of sperm flooded my mother's face, lips and mouth.
